Possa Vineyard (Possàitara), Riomaggiore

The Possa vineyard is the visible heart of the company: a system of terraces covering just over 2.5 hectares, starting at about 150 meters above sea level and descending down to the sea. From some rocks at the foot of the vineyard, you can enter the water, and in the past, people even landed here after the harvest.

Every square meter of this vineyard has been shaped by human hands: moving stones, building walls, bringing back soil where landslides had taken everything away. The work of restoring and maintaining the terraces is ongoing, as each winter brings new rains, new landslides, new adjustments. Taking care of Possa means holding together landscape, hydrogeological risk, and wine.

The terraces are mainly exposed to the south and southwest, with intense light for much of the day. The soils are lean, rocky, with a strong sandstone component, and drain water quickly. This, combined with the sea breeze, limits humidity and reduces the pressure of certain fungal diseases, allowing for respectful agricultural practices and very limited use of treatments.
